Welcome

I started Tierville Consulting in January 2008 to act as an umbrella for my freelance development activities.

Although my experience to date is fairly broad and I will happily consider any development or consultancy project, my current focus is in a relatively niche arena, namely migrating static (or mostly static) sites to run through a web application framework.

This approach has several benefits:

• Forces separation of content, style and business logic
• Facilitates conversion to semantic markup and current standards (XHTML, CSS2/3)
• Allows dynamic elements to be added easily (Ajax/Web 2, login, Content management etc)
• Provides search engine friendly links and provides for simple and flexible search engine optimization .
• Makes the site far more maintainable and extensible
